The Taylor & Challen 2 development consists of the restoration & conversion of the former lathe workshop on Constitution Hill. It will provide a mix of one and two-bed apartments and commercial space across 3 blocks.

The former lathe workshop will be redeveloped with mezzanine floors and a vertical extension to provide commercial office space at ground floor and 26 residential units. There will also be a new-build extension to the south-west of the existing building to provide a further 6 units.

The existing buildings are a combination of load-bearing masonry, concrete and cast-iron frameworks requiring careful assessment and co-ordination with new modern structural solutions. SBK are carrying out full civil and structural engineering design to the project from feasibility, through planning condition discharge, to detailed design.
